ExteriorFrom the nose of its winged goddess hood ornament, atop theprotuberant hood and large caddy badge below on front to the end ofthe stalked taillights this car bleeds luxury. When the hood isaloft, it reminds me of a Conquistador helmet. Straight, all steelpanels are all sculpted and minding their gaps and are bathed inmiles deep maroon paint. Pontoon fenders protrude from the sidesand frame highly polished turbine style caddy badged subbed wheelcoverings that are wrapped in wide whites. Chrome trimmings areseen in excess but remain a tasteful accenting to the grille, sidespears, searchlights, headlight bezels handles, hood vents, and thesplit windshield surround. Lest we forget the big bumpers on frontand rear and these show in good condition with a nice spit shine.Large rear fender skirts cover nearly the entire rear wheel andtire and cozy up to a shiny rocker trimming. Even the taillightsare large, and the only hint of something different lies below therear bumper where we see dual exhaust chrome tips peeking out. Isense a hot rod! A white convertible canvas top is in faircondition, shows dirt and some wear near the windshield. It doeshave a clear plastic window, and beautiful chromed framing to makeit go up and down manually.InteriorStepping over the ornately engraved threshold, Oxblood leatherabounds for the door panels and interior benches. Using thestitched panel and overstuffed tuck and roll technique you could beseated in your smoking lounge strategizing about the game of 8 ballgoing on at the time. Seats and door panels are in nice conditionwith just a small frown for the armrest on the drivers side.Conspicuous consumption best describes the dash with its Wurlitzersequel chromed trimmings around the radio and speaker covering.Hidden in the glovebox is another hint of the resto-mod motif inthat there is an AM/FM/CD changer. A round speedo complete with alarge chromed bezel and on the passengers side a similar sizeclock pepper the dash. In front of the beautifully aged bakelitesteering wheel complete with a chromed horn ring and badged centeris a horizontal cluster of gauges. Vintage A/C has been added in,along with the bagged suspension aftermarket gauge and a smallpanel of 2 gauges hanging below the dash. Deep red carpeting coversthe floors and is nice and thick on the pile directive.DrivetrainIn the category of well I was not expecting that, a lift of theheavy hood and what to our wondering eyes does appear? How about astout 472ci V8 blinged out with chromed valve coverings, anEdelbrock intake and a 4-barrel carburetor. On the back is a TH3503-speed automatic throwing power to a Ford 9- inch rear. Supplehoses and red ignition high voltage wiring add some more pop tothis large mill.UndercarriageCompletely restored and modified with a Mustang II front endsuspension, and some leaf springs with the adjustable airbags forthe back, all is looking solid and sound underneath. Power discbrakes are on front and power drums for the back, and a Turbomuffler dual exhaust for the exhale.
